Merry Christmas 2013 from Sister Spafford

As we approach this holiday season, I send greetings of peace and happiness. You’ll notice Sterling’s absence this year on our annual Christmas card. After some challenging health issues he passed away on May 15^th. Susan and David were most attentive, helped with arrangements and gave excellent tributes to their father at his funeral. It was nice to have my only sister, Arline and her daughter, Amy come from California. You’ll also notice the photo of all the grandchildren who attended.

I had acute kidney failure during the first week of May, however, my body recovered and I was here to celebrate 80 years in July.

I am happy to report a few other Spafford family events. Congratulations to our grandson, Jake Spafford who married Shannon Foster on May 1^st. Two grandchildren graduated from high school (Abby and Joey Spafford), three graduated from college (Derek and Liz Whitney and Shannon Foster). Carter Caldwell, great grandson was baptized on November 2, 2013.

I am grateful for family, friends, and neighbors who sustain me with simple acts of kindness. May we remember the life of our Savior and the great season we celebrate his birth.
